Sea Day – Monday 9-25-17

I think we all slept well but were all awake early…well except for Chris.  The girls and I went to the buffet for breakfast.  We knew Teresa and Keith were up because Teresa wanted to do the cardio dance class on the pool deck this morning.  I went to get another cup of coffee and found Keith at an outside table.  Teresa was up in the group for cardio.  Paige joined Teresa and we sat at the table drinking coffee.  I have to say it was quite the amusing activity to watch.  There is quite a large population of Asian people on this cruise.  They seem to love NCL…probably because they have three or four restaurants on the ship that are Chinese, Japanese, Thai, etc.  They are entertaining to watch.  As the music began they would join in on their way through the deck.  They did this with their purses, boots, high heeled shoes and would clap after each song and exercise routine.  Their lack of coordination in dance was comical but they didn’t seem to care.  We did have a good laugh.  Teresa and the kids were going to do the “Escape” room (which they were the winners), rock climbing wall and later the girls were going to a spa presentation.  I went back to the cabin to wash out some things and start on the blog before I forgot what we did so far.  I looked out the balcony door and we were passing land.  I got the camera and went out to take some photos.  It was fascinating as we were passing between Corsica and Sardinia!  Lots of sailboats in the water as well as small fishing boats and they were all so close to our ship!  The others came in shortly after and we all were amazed.  While everyone was in and out the glass of water I had poured that was sitting beside my computer had spilled all over the keyboard and the bottom battery area was dripping water.  We tried to dry it quickly but it soon died.  We ordered some dry rice from room service and put it in a bag with the computer (difficult to explain why we need uncooked rice)  but it still didn’t want to even start up a day later.  This was the end of writing the blog and posting photos for the week.  I was worried about losing the Barcelona photos that I had already put on there but alas, there was nothing I could do about it now.  Very out of character for me, I moved on and decided it was not going to ruin my trip.

Paige, Chris and Teresa were doing some things on the sports deck and Lindsay wanted to eat lunch.  We decided to go to O’Sheehan’s which is the Iris Pub/sports bar on the ship.  They have bar food but with waiter service.  Lindsay had the fish and chips and I had Sheperd’s pie and we enjoyed it.  Afterward we went to the pool deck for ice cream and found Teresa and Keith.  I can’t remember what took up the rest of the day but we decided to go to the Manhatten Room for dinner.   I met them in the board game room where they were playing Yahtzee.  They decided they wanted to go back and change since most people were dressed up so Keith and I went to a bar near the Manhatten and had a cocktail while waiting for them to redress and return.  This bar was part of the casino I guess because it had machines on the bar surface with Keno and Video Poker.  The one and only time I played…I put $20 in and played Keno until I had lost half and then I cashed out.  Teresa and the kids returned and we went to eat.  Dinner was good and the kids are very excited about being in Italy tomorrow. We took some family photos and then headed to the 10 PM show called Burn the Floor.  Good dancing but a boring show.  We had to nudge each other to stay awake.  I went back to the cabin to get the paperwork and things I needed for the morning ready while everyone else went off to do other things.  The girls came back after I was in bed very excited about the “Epic Beatles”.  We have to be up at 6 AM to be ready to be off the ship by 7:15 AM to meet Fabrizio.

Day two of the cruise is in the books!
